Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China, with a population estimated to be around 7.5 million people. It is known for its vibrant cityscape, international business hub, and unique blend of Eastern and Western cultures. The official languages spoken in Hong Kong are Chinese (Cantonese) and English.
The presence of British or Irish people in Hong Kong is significant due to historical ties and cultural connections, particularly before the handover of Hong Kong to China in 1997. Many British or Irish expatriates choose to live in Hong Kong for work opportunities in sectors such as finance, commerce, and education. They contribute to the local economy, engage in various industries, and add to the multicultural fabric of Hong Kong society.
