The Republic of Ireland, with its capital in the vibrant city of Dublin, had a population of about 5.1 million in 2023. Despite its charm and cultural richness, there is a substantial diaspora, with around 210,000 Irish expatriates residing outside the country, as reported by The Central Statistics Office (CSO) in the Republic of Ireland. The most popular destinations for these expats are the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.

However, their Irish heritage remains an enduring bond, one which might call them back home in unfortunate circumstances. Deaths among these expats may arise from various causes such as stroke, influenza and pneumonia, diabetes, and more. In addition, when Irish citizens travel to world-famous destinations like the Colosseum in Rome, Italy, unexpected incidents might occur, leading to situations necessitating the process of repatriation back to their homeland.
