The agent confirmed that it is indeed possible to bring human ashes on a Cathay Pacific flight but there are some crucial requirements.
  • Death Certificate: You absolutely must have a copy of the deceased's death certificate.
  • Cremation Certificate: A cremation certificate is mandatory as well, attesting that the ashes are what you claim them to be. The agent warned that airport security is likely to ask for the death and cremation certificates. Therefore, it's essential to keep these documents easily accessible.

You can bring the ashes as part of your carry-on luggage, but they must adhere to the maximum dimensions and weight limitations for your respective class.
  • Economy Class: 22in x 14in x 9in, Weight limit: 15 lb/7 kg
  • Business Class: 22in x 14in x 9in, Weight limit: 22 lb/10 kg
  • First Class: 22in x 14in x 9in, Weight limit: 33 lb/15 kg
